200 & 300 YARD RANGE

  1. THE 200 & 300 YARD RANGE IS PRIMARILY INTENDED AS A HIGH POWER RANGE BUT ALL BLACK POWDER PISTOLS, RIFLES AND CENTER FIRE SHOTGUNS USING SLUGS MAY BE USED. THE 200 YARD POINT OF RANGE HAS STEEL DEER AND STEEL GONGS AND AT 300 YARDS THERE ARE STEEL GONGS. PLEASE BE THOUGHTFUL OF OTHER SHOOTERS WHEN USING BLACK POWDER RIFLES

  2. THIS RANGE REQUIRES A SIGN IN AND OUT FOR ALL SHOOTERS USING PROPER NAME (I.E. FIRST & LAST NAME) WITH TIMES ANNOTATED! BOOK IS PROVIDED IN BOX INSIDE RANGE HOUSE. INCLUDE THE NAMES OF SHOOTING GUESTS

  3. HEARING AND EYE PROTECTION ARE MANDATORY.

  4. NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ALLOWED AT RANGES.

  5. REMOVE (PICK UP) YOUR DEBRIS BEFORE YOU LEAVE AND DISPOSE IN THE PROPER CONTAINERS LOCATED IN THE RANGE HOUSE AND OR DUMP CONTAINERS IN THE PARKING LOT.

  6. THE RANGE IS AVAILABLE FOR USE BETWEEN 9 A.M. AND SUNSET AS POSTED IN THE LOCAL NEWSPAPER AND IS GENERALLY POSTED IN THE RANGE HOUSE.

  7. ALWAYS ENTER THE RANGE USING THE DOORWAY OF THE SHOOTING HOUSE. DO NOT ENTER OR APPROACH THE RANGE IN ANY OTHER DIRECTION.

  8. CLOSE THE DOOR TO THE SHOOTING HOUSE WHILE SHOOTING THIS WILL HELP MITIGATE THE NOISE FOR THOSE PEOPLE ON AL HARVEY WALKING OR RIDING BICYCLES

  9. THE FOLLOWING IS NOT ALLOWED: TRACER, INCENDIARY, STEEL CORE OR ARMOR PIERCING AMMUNITION IS NOT ALLOWED.

  10. AUTOMATIC FIREARMS OR SEMIAUTOMATIC WEAPONS FITTED WITH TRIGGER RATCHETS OR OTHER ADD ON DEVICES THAT SIMULATE AUTOMATIC FIRE IS NOT ALLOWED.

  11. HANDLING AND / OR CLEANING OF FIREARMS WHEN A CEASE FIRE IS CALLED OR WHEN PEOPLE ARE DOWN RANGE IS NOT ALLOWED.

  12. NO BOTTLES OR CANS. NO TARGETS FASTENED TO POSTS, BEAMS OR TREES

  13. ALL MINORS (UNDER AGE 18) MUST BE SUPERVISED AT ALL TIMES. ALL GUESTS MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY A MEMBER AT ALL TIMES. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR GUESTS. DURING OCCASIONS WERE A MEMBER LEAVES THE RANGE FOR ANY REASON THE GUEST MUST ALSO DEPART THE RANGE.

  14. WHEN NOT IN USE ALL FIREARM ACTIONS SHALL BE IN THE OPEN POSITION OR FIXED WITH AN APPROPRIATE OPEN ACTION INDICATOR. HOWEVER, BREAK ACTION GUNS STORED IN THE GUN RACK PROVIDED IN THE HOUSE ARE EXCLUDED.

  15. THE 200-300 YARD RANGE IS NOT APPROVED TO BE USED AS A 100 YARD RANGE. THIS RANGE IS TO BE USED FOR 200-300 YARD TARGET SHOOTING ONLY.

  16. BIG BORE RIFLE CARTRIDGES BMG.50 CALIBER TYPES ARE ALLOWED ON THE 300 YARD RANGE TARGETS ONLY. DO NOT USE METAL TARGETS PROVIDED BY THE CLUB WITH A .50 CALIBER BMG TYPE. PLEASE BE THOUGHTFUL OF OTHER SHOOTERS DUE TO THE NOISE AND SHOCK WAVES WHEN USING A .50 CALIBER BMG TYPE RIFLE.

  17. BIG BORE RIFLE CARTRIDGES .50 CALIBER BMG TYPE, ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BE USED ON 200 YARD RANGE TARGETS. DUE TO THE KINETIC ENERGY AND PENETRATION, THIS TYPE OF BIG BORE RIFLE CARTRIDGE WILL PASS THRU THE EXISTING BACK STOPS.

  18. ALL BIG BORE CENTER FIRE RIFLE CARTRIDGES SMALLER THAN .50 CALIBER BMG TYPES ARE ALLOWED TO USE ALL METAL OR PAPER TARGETS LOCATED AT 200 AND 300 YARDS. BLACK POWDER PISTOLS, RIFLES OR SHOTGUNS AND CENTER FIRE SHOTGUNS USING SLUGS ARE ALSO ALLOWED TO USE ON ALL TARGETS.

  19. ALL TARGETS ARE TO BE PLACED AT 200 & 300 YARD ESTABLISHED STATIONS ONLY. NO TARGETS ARE TO BE PLACED AT ANY OTHER DISTANCES. EXCEPT DURING FIELD DAYS WITH THE AUTHORIZATION OF THE RANGE COMMITTEE CHAIRMAN.

  20. ALL TARGETS ARE TO BE PLACED DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF THE BACK STOPS, ON PALLETS MOUNTED ON PALLET HOLDERS PROVIDED. PAPER TARGETS ARE TO BE STAPLED OR TACKED TO PALLETS. NO TARGETS TO BE PLACED ON BRIDGE, BRIDGE SUPPORT POSTS, BEAMS OR TREES. ALL STEEL GONGS ARE TO BE PLACED IN FRONT OF THE BACK STOPS.

  21. YOU MAY SHOOT ONLY DIRECTLY AT THE BACK STOPS FROM IN SIDE THE RANGE ENCLOSURE (I.E. FIRING LINE). SHOOTING FROM IN FRONT OF THE ENCLOSURE IS NOT PERMITTED UNLESS AUTHORIZED BY THE RANGE COMMITTEE CHAIRMAN OR THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS. ALL OTHER SHOOTING MUST BE DONE FROM THE FIRING LINE.

  22. POLICE QUALIFICATIONS WILL BE POSTED IN THE RANGE HOUSE AND IN CLUB HOUSE AT THE EARLIEST POSSIBLE DATE. ADDITIONALLY, A NOTICE WILL GENERALLY BE PUBLISHED IN THE NEWS LETTER IN AN EFFORT TO MINIMIZE THE IMPACT ON CLUB SHOOTERS.

  23. DEFECTIVE, UNFIRED OR DUD AMMUNITION IS TO BE DISPOSED OF IN THE RED CONTAINER NEAR THE OUTDOOR COOKING AREA ADJACENT TO THE CLUB HOUSE.

  24. ALL BRASS RE-LOADABLE AND NON RE-LOADABLE CASES ARE TO BE PLACED IN METAL RECYCLE CONTAINERS. PAPER OR CARDBOARD IN TRASH CONTAINERS. PLEASE EMPTY TRASH CONTAINERS WHEN THEY ARE FULL INTO THE GREEN DUMPSTER IN THE PARKING LOT AS REQUIRED.

  25. A FIRST AID BOX IS LOCATED IN THE CLUB HOUSE MEETING ROOM AND VARIOUS SHOOTING RANGE HOUSES FOR EMERGENCY USE. PLEASE FAMILIARIZE YOURSELF WITH THEIR LOCATIONS. PLEASE INFORM THE RANGE COMMITTEE IF SUPPLIES ARE USED TO RESTOCK THE BOX.

  26. CLOSE THE DOOR TO SHOOTING HOUSE DURING SHOOTING TO MINIMIZE NOISE FROM THE RANGE.

    IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE CONTACT YOUR RANGE COMMITTEE CHAIRMAN

    FOR YOUR HEALTH AND SAFETY THE RANGE COMMITTEE RECOMMENDS THAT SHOOTERS DO NOT EAT, DRINK FROM OPEN CONTAINERS OR SMOKE WHEN NEAR THE SHOOTING BENCH AREA. YOU SHOULD WASH UP AFTER SHOOTING.

    THE 200 & 300 YARD RANGE IS LOCATED OFF HUGH’S WAY LOOK FOR CHARLES O’NEILL ACCESS ROAD ON THE RIGHT COMING FROM THE ENTRANCE GATE.

    REPORT ANY AND ALL RANGE DEFICIENCIES TO THE APPROPRIATE RANGE COMMITTEE CHAIRMAN IN A TIMELY MANNER.

    PLEASE ADDRESS ALL SAFETY ISSUES WITH MEMBERS IMMEDIATELY AS THEY OCCUR, AND FORWARD ANY SAFETY ISSUES TO THE RANGE COMMITTEE CHAIRMAN AND THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS FOR RESOLUTION

    VIOLATION OF THESE RULES WILL SUBJECT YOU TO DISCIPLINARY REVIEW BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS.
