500 YARD RANGE

GENERAL 500 YARD RANGE RULES

  1. HEARING AND EYE PROTECTION ARE “MANDATORY” ON ALL RANGES FOR ALL SHOOTERS, GUESTS AND SPECTATORS.
  2. ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ARE “ NOT ALLOWED” ON ANY RANGE AT ANY TIME.
  3. SHOOTING AFTER CONSUMING ANY ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE IS “PROHIBITED".
  4. FULLY AUTOMATIC AND SELECT-FIRE FIREARMS OR SEMI-AUTOMATIC FIREARMS FITTED WITH TRIGGER RATCHETS OR OTHER ADD ON DEVICES TO SIMULATE AUTOMATIC FIRE “ARE PROHIBITED” ON ALL CLUB RANGES.
  5. ALL RANGES REQUIRE SIGN IN AND OUT FOR ALL SHOOTERS USING PROPER NAME (FIRST & LAST), MEMBERSHIP NUMBER, TIME & DATE ANNOTATED. “PLEASE INCLUDE THE NAMES OF EACH GUEST”.
  6. A MODEST DONATION FOR "GUEST USAGE” OF OUR RANGES IS GREATLY APPRECIATED ($3.00 OR $4.00). DONATIONS COVER USE OF THE RANGE FOR THE ENTIRE DAY. ALL DONATIONS ARE DEDICATED TO OFFSET RANGE UPKEEP. DONATION REQUESTS DO NOT APPLY TO FAMILY MEMBERS. THE DONATION DROP BOX IS LOCATED IN THE CLUBHOUSE. PLEASE PLACE FUNDS IN ENVELOPE MARKED “RANGE DONATION”.
  7. THE FOLLOWING AMMUNITIONS ARE “NOT ALLOWED” ON ANY RANGE: TRACER, INCENDIARY OR ARMOR PIERCING.
  8. MEMBERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR GUESTS AT ALL TIMES. ALL MINORS (UNDER AGE 18) “MUST” BE SUPERVISED AT ALL TIMES. ALL GUESTS “MUST” BE ACCOMPANIED BY A MEMBER AT ALL TIMES. DURING OCCASIONS WHERE A MEMBER MUST LEAVE THE RANGE FOR ANY REASON, THE GUEST “MUST” ALSO DEPART THE RANGE UNLESS ANOTHER MEMBER ASSUMES RESPONSIBILITY.
  9. PLEASE BE COURTEOUS TO OTHER SHOOTERS AT ALL TIMES.
  10. REFER TO RANGE RULE BOOKLET FOR COMPLETE RANGE REGULATIONS.
  11. REPORT ANY SAFETY OR MAINTENANCE ISSUES TO THE OUTDOOR RANGE COMMITTEE OR ANY CLUB OFFICER.

KEEP YOUR RANGE CLEAN AND SAFE

500 YARD RANGE RULES (POSTED)

  1. THIS RANGE IS OPEN DURING JUNE, JULY & AUGUST ONLY. SHOOTING HOURS ARE FROM 10:00 AM UNTIL 4:00 PM.
  2. RANGE IS APPROVED FOR ALL CENTERFIRE RIFLES.
  3. THIS RANGE IS NOT APPROVED FOR RAPID FIRE.
  4. MUZZLE LOADERS & SHOTGUNS (SLUGS ONLY) MAY BE USED AT 50 & 100 YARDS ONLY.
  5. PLACE ORANGE FLAG IN DISPLAY HOLDER PRIOR TO GOING DOWN RANGE TO DESIGNATE A “COLD RANGE”. “ENSURE ALL SHOOTERS ARE AWARE OF THE CEASE FIRE CALL”. ALL FIREARMS MUST BE EMPTY AND MADE SAFE (ACTIONS OPEN, MAGAZINES REMOVED, ETC.) FOR THE DURATION OF THE CEASE FIRE. REMOVE FLAG FROM DISPLAY HOLDER ONLY WHEN RANGE IS SAFE FOR SHOOTING TO COMMENCE. “ENSURE ALL SHOOTERS ARE AWARE THE RANGE IS READY FOR SHOOTING TO COMMENCE”.
  6. WHEN CHANGING TARGETS AT 500 YARDS: VEHICLE ACCESS IS PROVIDED VIA THE ACCESS ROAD (ACROSS THE DAM) TO THE 500 YARD BERM. PRIOR TO 500 YARD TARGET MAINTENANCE COMPLY WITH RULE 5. OBSERVE THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURE AT 500 YARD LOCATION; ENGAGE THE ORANGE FLAG ATTACHED TO PULLY SO THAT FLAG IS LOCATED WITHING BERM IMPACT AREA PRIOR TO TARGET MAINTENANCE. RELOCATE PULLY FLAG TO NORMAL LOCATION UPON LEAVING THE 500 YARD BERM AREA.
  7. ALL TARGETS ARE TO BE PLACED DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF THE BERM PROFILE. PERSONAL STEEL TARGETS ARE NOT PERMITTED UNLESS AUTHORIZED BY THE OUTDOOR RANGE COMMITTEE.
  8. RANGE GATE MUST BE RELOCKED WHEN CLOSING RANGE. RETURN THE GATE KEY TO THE CLUBHOUSE.

KEEP YOUR RANGE CLEAN AND SAFE

500 YARD RANGE RULES SIGN IN LOG

  1. ALL MEMBERS AND GUESTS MUST LOG IN & OUT AT THE CLUBHOUSE & RANGE PRIOR TO RANGE USE. LOG OUT WHEN FINISHED.
  2. FIRST TIME GUESTS MUST SIGN A WAIVER AND RELEASE AGREEMENT PRIOR TO USING THE RANGE.
  3. USE THE RANGE GATE KEY TO OPEN THE RANGE ACCESS GATE.
  4. VEHICLES SHALL BE PARKED ONLY IN THE DESIGNATED AREA BEHIND THE RANGE BUILDING.
  5. OBSERVE ALL RANGE RULES POSTED ON THE RANGE AND BERM ACCESS POINTS.
  6. SECURE THE RANGE BUILDING & GATE WHEN SHOOTING IS FINISHED. RETURN KEY TO CLUBHOUSE AFTER RANGE USE.
