INDOOR HANDGUN RANGE RULES

  1. THE INDOOR HANDGUN RANGE IS SPECIFICALLY A 10 STATION 50 FOOT PISTOL RANGE.

  2. THIS RANGE REQUIRES A SIGN IN AND OUT FOR ALL SHOOTERS USING PROPER NAME (I.E. FIRST & LAST NAME) WITH TIMES ANNOTATED. A BOOK IS PROVIDED AT THE RANGE. PLEASE INCLUDE THE NAMES OF YOUR SHOOTING GUESTS

  3. THE RANGE IS OPEN 24 HOURS A DAY 7 DAYS A WEEK. THE ONLY EXCEPTIONS TO THIS WOULD BE DURING NORMAL MONTHLY MEMBERSHIP AND B.O.D. MEETINGS, RANGE MAINTENANCE AND SANCTION CLUB LEAGUE MATCHES. SANCTION CLUB LEAGUE MATCHES AND MONTHLY RANGE MAINTENANCE SESSIONS AND CLUB MEETINGS ARE SCHEDULED AND POSTED IN THE CLUB HOUSE AND THE MONTHLY NEWS LETTER FOR YOU’RE PLANNING CONVENIENCE.

  4. ALL MINORS (UNDER AGE 18) MUST BE SUPERVISED AT ALL TIMES. ALL GUESTS MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY A MEMBER AT ALL TIMES. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR GUESTS. DURING OCCASIONS WERE A MEMBER LEAVES THE RANGE FOR ANY REASON THE GUEST MUST ALSO DEPART THE RANGE

  5. AUTOMATIC FIREARMS OR SEMIAUTOMATIC WEAPONS FITTED WITH TRIGGER RATCHETS OR OTHER ADD ON DEVICES THAT SIMULATE AUTOMATIC FIRE IS NOT ALLOWED

  6. FOR YOUR SAFETY, EATING DRINKING OR SMOKING ON THE RANGE (OR) IN THE VIEWING AREA IS NOT ALLOWED.

  7. RANGE START-UP AND SHUTDOWN PROCEDURES ARE POSTED IN THE VIEWING AREA. PLEASE FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS FOR YOUR SAFETY.

  8. PERSONNEL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT, SAFTY GLASSES AND HEARING PROTECTION, IS REQUIRED ON THE RANGE AT ALL TIMES.

  9. WHENEVER A CEASE FIRE IS CALLED, ALL SHOOTING MUST IMMEDIATELY STOP. GUNS ARE TO BE MADE SAFE, (CLEARING THE CHAMBER AND REMOVEING THE CLIP, OR OPENING THE CYLINDER OR BREAKING THE ACTION). THE GUN SHOULD THEN BE PLACED ON THE TABLE IN FRONT OF YOU UNTOUCHED UNTIL THE REASON FOR THE CEASE FIRE IS ANNOUNCED AND THE FIRING RANGE IS RETURNED TO FIRING STATUS. UPON HEARING A REQUEST TO GO DOWN RANGE FOR ANY REASON, DO NOT HANDLE ANY GUN AT OR NEAR THE FIRING LINE UNTIL THE PERSON(S) HAVE RETURNED AND THE RANGE IS RETURNED TO FIRING STATUS.

  10. DO NOT SHOOT FROM OUTSIDE OR BEHIND THE DESIGNATED . BOOTH. THIS INCLUDES COMBAT SHOOTING OR SHOOTING WITHOUT LIGHTS.

  11. USE PAPER TARGETS ONLY.
    (FIELD DAY MAY USE CLUB SANCTIONED TARGETS)

  12. SHOOT AT PAPER TARGETS ONLY.

  13. A FIRST AID BOX IS LOCATED IN THE CLUB HOUSE MEETING ROOM FOR EMERGENCY USE. PLEASE MAKE YOURSELF FIMILIAR WITH THEIR LOCATIONS. WHEN SUPPLIES ARE USED PLEASE INFORM THE RANGE COMMITTEE CHAIRPERSON TO ALLOW RESTOCKING

  14. ALL BRASS RE-LOADABLE AND NON RE-LOADABLE CASES ARE TO BE PLACED IN METAL RECYCLE CONTAINERS. PLACE PAPER OR CARDBOARD IN TRASH CONTAINERS. PLEASE EMPTY TRASH CONTAINERS WHEN THEY ARE FULL INTO THE DUMPSTER LOCATED IN THE PARKING LOT.

  15. PLACE PAPER OR CARDBOARD SHELL BOXES IN THE TRASH CONTAINERS

  16. WHEN THE TRASH CONTAINERS GET FULL OF PAPER OR CARDBOARD, PLEASE TAKE TIME TO EMPTY THEM INTO THE DUMPSTER LOCATED OUTSIDE WITHIN THE PARKING LOT.

  17. CLOSE RANGE DOORS WHILE SHOOTING TO MITIGATE THE NOISE WITHIN THE VIEWING AREA.

  18. NOTE: NOT ALL HANDGUNS ARE ALLOWED ON THE INDOOR HANDGUN RANGE.

  19. THE FOLLOWING HANDGUNS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON THE INDOOR RANGE1 . THESE LARGER CALIBERS ARE CAPABLE OF CAUSING PERSONNEL, BACK-STOP OR BUILDING DAMAGE.

    3. 480 RUGER
    4. 500 SMITH & WESSON
    5. 50 AE CALIBER HANDGUNS
    6. HAND GUNS USING POWERFUL RIFLE CALIBERS SUCH AS MANUFACTURES BY CONTENDER, ENCORE, XP-100 ECT.


  20. NO SHOT SHELLS OR SHOTGUNS OF ANY KIND. THIS INCLUDES THE .410 JUDGE SHOTGUN SHEELS

    NOTE: AS GUN MANUFACTURES INTRODUCE NEW LARGE CALIBER WEAPONS TYPICAL OF THE ABOVE LIST, HOWEVER NOT YET LISTED, PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO SEEK GUIDANCE FROM THE RANGE COMMITTEE CHAIRMAN AS TO ITS APPROPRIATE USE ON THE INDOOR HANDGUN RANGE

  21. THE FOLLOWING HANDGUNS ARE ALLOWED ON THE INDOOR RANGE

  22. PISTOL CALIBERS UP TO AND INCLUDING 8-3/8 INCH LONG BARREL 44 MAGNUM.
    1. 45 A.C.P.
    2. 45 LONG COLT
    3. .22 CAL LR OR .17M2 RIFLES


    4. FOR YOUR HEALTH AND SAFETY THE RANGE COMMITTEE RECOMMENDS THAT SHOOTERS DO NOT EAT, DRINK FROM OPEN CONTAINERS OR SMOKE WHEN NEAR THE SHOOTING BENCH AREA. YOU SHOULD WASH UP AFTER SHOOTING.



  23. REPORT ANY AND ALL RANGE DEFICIENCIES TO THE APPROPRIATE RANGE COMMITTEE CHAIRPERSON IN A TIMELY MANNER.

  24. PLEASE ADDRESS ALL SAFETY ISSUES WITH MEMBERS IMMEDIATELY AS THEY OCCUR, AND FORWARD ANY SAFETY ISSUES TO THE RANGE COMMITTEE CHAIRPERSON AND THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS FOR RESOLUTION.

  25. VIOLATION OF THESE RULES WILL SUBJECT YOU TO A DISCIPLINARY REVIEW BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS.

  27. 1These calibers can be used on the outdoor multi purpose range using paper or other authorized range targets. Check with your committee chairmen for needed guidance.
